Tips for Importing Japanese Used Cars? Looking for Insights on Auctions, Inspections & Shipping

I am interested in the whole process of bringing in JP used cars including bidding at the auctions to shipping the car out. A while ago, Nobuko Japan came into my view, which appears to grant access to major car auctions in Japan, but I am still unsure about the things to watch out for.
To the people who have been through the process:
What is the reliability of the auction inspection sheets? Are there any red flags to look for?
How long are the shipping times? Were there any hidden costs or things that surprised you during the process?
